Here we meet Adrian, Peter, and Gene for the first time. I was trying to go for a cross between manga and traditional american comics in layout - even to this day, I'm not sure as to how well I succeeded in that.

I also managed to piss off Anson with this first strip because I added the "thinking about it" dialogue (winter break... christmas... winter... christmas... break...). Besides deviating from his original dialogue, he felt that it was pounding people over the head with the joke. So if you feel that's the case, you can blame me for that.

A constant struggle we had was Mark adding things to the dialogue. I used to get really mad over it, because I don稚 like deviation from my original work, and in the case of the first chapter, I wrote it all out at once, and I didn稚 have a chance to alter the flow of the strips to account for the little changes. Even in the beginning, with our comic schlock, I was very serious about story flow.
