Peter's grandparents were based on generic old man #174 and my grandmother. The principal was George Costanza from Seinfeld.

At the time I wanted to keep all language in the comic clean. Basically, if you couldn't say it on TV, I didn't want it here. I wanted to keep the comic as accessible to everyone as possible. Of course, I tend to curse like a sailor in real life.
